Our Ingredients
At ReBirth, every ingredient has a job to do. Nothing is filler, nothing is synthetic, and nothing is on the label just to look good.
As we've narrowed our focus to skincare: face cream, sunscreen, and lip balm, we wanted this page to reflect that same simplicity: a short list of ingredients, each one chosen on purpose, each one doing real work for your skin.
Here's exactly what's in each product, and why.
Face Cream
Grass-fed tallow, organic shea butter, castor oil, and (daytime only) organic zinc oxide
Grass-fed tallow is still our foundation, just as it's always been. It's rich in vitamins A, D, K, and E, the vitamins your skin actually needs, and its fatty acid structure closely mirrors our own skin's, which is why it absorbs so well instead of sitting on the surface like a synthetic lotion.
Organic shea butter adds deep, lasting moisture. We use it unrefined, because refining strips out the very vitamins and minerals that make shea butter worth using in the first place.
Castor oil rounds out the cream with a lightweight, penetrating moisture that helps the tallow and shea butter absorb evenly, without a greasy feel.
For our daytime cream, we add organic zinc oxide, a mineral (not chemical) source of SPF protection. Zinc oxide sits on top of the skin and physically reflects UV rays, rather than absorbing into the bloodstream the way many chemical sunscreen ingredients do — which is exactly the kind of "no chemicals needed" approach ReBirth has always stood for.
And finally, we do offer scents if you need one. Frankincense is wonderful for acne and sensitive skin. Sandalwood is good for acne, cold sores, aging skin, sunburn, dry skin, rejuvenation.
Sunscreen
Grass-fed tallow, organic coconut oil, organic zinc oxide, organic beeswax, and organic essential oils of carrot seed oil, peppermint and myrrh
Our sunscreen starts with the same trusted base of tallow, joined by coconut oil for its light, fast-absorbing moisture.
Zinc oxide is the ingredient doing the real work of sun protection here — a mineral barrier that reflects UV rays rather than absorbing them into your skin, the way we believe sunscreen should work.
Beeswax gives the formula its structure and helps create a breathable, water-resistant barrier on the skin.
Finally, we finish with peppermint and myrrh essential oils. Peppermint brings a cooling, energizing feel that's perfect for a day outside, and myrrh being one of the oldest anointing oils recorded in Scripture has a long history of use for its soothing, protective qualities.
Lip Balm
Grass-fed tallow, beeswax, essential oils, and vitamin E
Simple, by design. Tallow nourishes and repairs, beeswax locks that moisture in and protects against wind and dry air, and vitamin E adds an extra layer of antioxidant support to help guard delicate lip skin. A touch of essential oil gives each balm its scent and there's nothing more.
Why We Formulate This Way
Your skin is your largest organ, and what you put on it doesn't stay on the surface; it's absorbed into your body. That's the conviction ReBirth was built on, and it hasn't changed just because our product line has: no water fillers, no synthetic fragrance, no toxic preservatives. Just ingredients you could recognize with a real shelf-life, in a form your skin was made to use.
